Being found on Google and AI answer engines
Every menu published with Carteia is already prepared to be found: on Google it appears with photos, prices and reviews; in AI engines like ChatGPT it can be cited as an answer; in searches done in other languages it shows up in the right version for the user. On Assaggio you get the basics; more languages as you move up (2 on Assaggio/Osteria, 4 on Bistro, 8 from Ristorante); from Bistro onward you turn on the AI Dish FAQ — the strongest lever for being picked up by AI engines.
In short
When a customer looks for a restaurant, the first question isn't "do I have a nice site?": it's "can they find me?". With Carteia your menu is already prepared for the three channels that bring customers today: classic search (Google, Bing), AI answer engines (ChatGPT, Google AI Overview), and maps (Google Maps). Everything needed to be found is added automatically every time you publish or update the menu.

What changes for your venue
A PDF menu isn't clickable, doesn't translate, AI engines can't read it, and it doesn't show up when someone searches for a dish. With Carteia it's the opposite:
- On Google your venue appears with photos, reviews, prices, phone — not just a title and a link.
- Each dish is its own page: someone searching "carbonara + your city" can land right on your dish page.
- A tourist searching in English, French or Chinese sees the menu in their language right away.
- Your Google reviews show inside the storefront, next to the menu.
- AI engines (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overview, Gemini) can cite your venue when answering people asking about restaurants in your area.
The three channels where you're found
1. Google and Bing
Classic engines show your links in the results. Carteia prepares every page (storefront, menu, single dish) with targeted titles, full descriptions, cover photos and all the data Google can read. The result: instead of a bare result with just a title and a link, your venue appears with a rich preview (photo, stars, hours, average price).
2. Google Maps and local search
When someone searches "pizzeria near me", Google draws from Google Business and your site. Carteia doesn't replace Google Business, but it reinforces your presence with consistent data (hours, phone, cuisine type, price range) and shows your Google reviews inside the public storefront.
3. AI engines (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overview, Gemini)
More and more customers ask an AI directly: "where do I eat good fish around here?". AI engines answer by citing sources. Carteia prepares your content so these engines can read it: every menu has structured data and, from Bistro onward, every dish can have AI-generated FAQs (see AI Dish FAQ). It's the strongest lever for being quoted word for word in their answers.
Your venue's storefront on Google
For every published venue, the storefront pages (/r/<slug>) and the menu pages (/menu/<slug>) arrive already prepared with:
- Title and description with name, city and cuisine type.
- Full address, position on the map, phone, hours, price range.
- A cover photo formatted as a social preview (Facebook, WhatsApp, X).
- A direct link to the menu.
In practice: when a customer shares the link to your menu on WhatsApp, the other side instantly sees a preview with a photo and name — not an anonymous link that nobody opens.
Your dishes as findable pages
Every published dish has its own page (/menu/<slug>/<dish>). For Google and the AI engines this means:
- Someone searching for a specific dish ("seafood scialatielli + city") can land right on the page, skipping the general menu.
- Each dish page carries the price, allergens, photo, description, any pairing and — from Bistro onward — the AI FAQs for that dish.
- AI engines can cite the page as a direct answer to questions like "what is scialatiella?", if the description is rich and the allergens are declared.
Multilingual: someone searching in Chinese sees Chinese
If you're in a tourist area, a good slice of searches come from people who don't speak the local language. Carteia handles it for you: every page tells Google which other language versions exist, so Google shows a Chinese user the Chinese version, a French user the French one, and so on.
| Plan | Languages of your public menu |
|---|---|
| Assaggio | 2 (Italian + English) |
| Osteria | 2 (Italian + English) |
| Bistro | 4 (Italian, English + 2 of your choice) |
| Ristorante | 8 (it, en, fr, de, es, pt, ru, zh) |
| Insegna | 8 |
| Insegna Plus | 8 |
Google reviews in your storefront
When you connect the venue's Google Maps address in the settings, Carteia automatically syncs the rating, the review count and a link to the profile, and shows them in the public storefront. A new review on Google appears in the storefront within 24 hours, with nothing for you to do. (You just need the venue published and the Maps URL pasted in.)
Topic pages (curated by Carteia)
Carteia publishes a few pages built for restaurateurs' most frequent searches:
/software-gestionale-ristoranti/menu-digitale-qr-code/menu-multilingua-ristoranti/aumentare-vendite-ristorante/verifica-attivita-ristorante
They bring traffic to the Carteia brand and, in turn, to the network's venues: your public profile can be cited as an example on pages relevant to your sector, if the venue data is filled in well.
What you can do to climb
The levers that depend on you (not on the technology) are few and concrete:
Fill in all the venue fields: address, phone, hours, price range, cuisine type. The more data you give Google, the richer the preview in the results.
Upload quality photos of the dishes (at least 1600×1200, JPG or PNG): pages with photos get on average twice the clicks.
Write full descriptions: name, ingredients, preparation, any origin. No slogans; AI engines prefer concrete information.
Declare the allergens on every dish: beyond the legal requirement, they enrich the page and help people looking for menus that fit a specific need.
Generate the AI FAQs for the main dishes (from Bistro onward): the single action with the most effect on AI engines.
Connect Google Maps from the venue settings to turn on review syncing.
Publish events (from Ristorante onward): they give customers one more reason to look you up and book.
What Carteia doesn't do
To be honest: Carteia handles everything that depends on your pages, but it doesn't replace some things that stay in your hands or your Google Business.
- It doesn't run Google Business for you: photos, hours and posts on the Google listing stay in your account.
- It doesn't do link building: the authority coming from industry blogs, food guides or TripAdvisor doesn't pass through Carteia.
- It doesn't guarantee a specific position: Google decides on hundreds of factors. Carteia removes the technical obstacles; you build the content and the reputation.
- Access to ranking data (Google Search Console) may need domain verification: it's done once, with assistance if you have a custom domain.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What does it actually change for my venue?
- When someone searches 'pizzeria + your city' on Google, your venue can appear with photos, average rating, prices, phone and a link to the menu — right in the results, without even opening the site. The more they see, the more they call or book.
- Do I need to configure anything for SEO?
- No. Carteia adds everything Google and the AI engines read, automatically. One thing is left to you: fill in the venue details well (address, hours, phone, photos) and the dishes (description, allergens, photo).
- Why would my dishes show up in ChatGPT or Google's AI answers?
- AI engines answer by citing sources. When the dish has an AI FAQ (you generate it in a few clicks from Bistro onward, see the AI FAQ guide), it becomes a source those engines can read and may drop straight into the answer.
- How long does Google take to see a new menu?
- Usually between 24 and 72 hours after publishing. Carteia signals every new dish and every change to Google, with nothing for you to do.
